When I was showing my students examples of a montage sequence, I showed the original Rocky training, and I'd show then Rocky IV because we could see the Soviet versus the hard working American. I also used the Twilight baseball scene, along with a much more classic Naked Gun baseball scene. However, the montage that got the biggest reaction was often the Big Bang Theory montage spoof, which uses The Eye of the Tiger like a Rocky movie with a couple scientists, who get exhausted by doing mental workouts. It was funny to me because it took such a normal work situation and tuned it into a clever little montage, which maybe gives all of us hope that our meaningless work lives mean something (or would at least be exciting to music).
